ABOUT: Described by Time Out magazine as a “Mozambican New Soul Diva” Maiuko has a voice that defies the limitations of one particular genre. With a little inspiration from the likes of Hugh Masekela, Billie Holiday, and Massive Attack, Maiuko has developed a song-writing skill that comfortable blends African sounds, jazz and blues into one timeless language of music.
Throughout her career, Maiuko has collaborated and appeared alongside musical greats such as Miles Davis, BB King, Dick Pierce (Ronnie Scott’s Band), Max Midleton, Jeff Beck, Sara Tavares, Tito Paris, Maquenzie, Laye Saw… to mention a few.
